Ok, I have a chip on my car. I was wondering if it would be possible to pull the chip, flash my computer to tell it I have different gears, then put the chip back in without it overriding the stock flash? Sounds complicated but I'm trying to save a few bucks here...

to me it seems like once you put the chip in, then the car's computer will run off the information on the chip and not what was just flashed on the cars comp.
but that's just my theory. not sure...
why not have the chip flashed instead of the cars comp? wouldn't you have to spend money either way?

Aight, it was worth a shot. I'm trying to come up with a temporary fix for gears, thanks for the help though.

Basically no. Its possible because gear ratio can be specified in the tune or in the VID block, but most normal people don't have the tools to do it. The chip does not map out the VID block.
I just ordered a xcal 2 from you, so all's good lol.
