I have a 99 v6 and the paint on my front bumper is peeling and chipping. I think someone did a really cheap paint job on it to make it look better for the time being, but now 2 years later it isnt lasting to well. I can get this repainted, or I can just get a cobra bumper. Will the cobra bumper line up alright with my car? Also, will it be lower than my front bumper I have now, because I dont want it to be lower than the sides of my car. Last question... how much would it cost to have a bumper painted? Thanks

It will fit. It's the most popular bumper to ever be put on a V6 Mustang. The '99 and '03 Cobras will be around the stock height. The Cobra R will sit in on the ground.
Paint will vary from $100-$300. Depends on the shop.

they all line up fine. I have had a 99 and 03 style cobra front on my 01 and it works great. The 99 is the cheaper version at the moment (unless ford racing has released the 03 style) at 330 with fog lights thats not bad at all. You can get a roush stage 3 bumper for 430~ with EVERYTHING (this includes shipping!) so in the end it would be the cheapest of them all.
The ford racing 03 version should be 375 with everything , including fog lights.

Do you think I would run into any problems buying a used cobra bumper? I was trying to keep it all under $400 including paint if possible, but I know that may not be realistic.

Depends on any previous body work done to make the bumper fit.

you can look at it and see if there are any issues, the only issues you may not visually see is the side mounting brackets, there are little plastic tabs one on each side that go into a metal bracket that bolts to the car. Basically test fit it, if it fits right then your good.
I would expect 500 out the door for it. I would do 03, 01, or roush stage 3. All are about 500 total~
