I have a 98 v6, all stock (engine) and I was starting to clean it tonight, and i have noticed that my valve covers are starting to bubble, crack and melt the paint on them. ( i am in indiana) i have never had a issue with heat should i do something about it? It has 131,500 miles on it. pic from the driver side VC

The paint is actually powder coated on them, and it's just paint. Your valve covers are actually metal, so you should have no worries. You can replace them if you like.
