Has anyone heard or tried a side exhausts on a V6 Mustang?
The mufflers I found for side exhaust are MagnaFlow Performance and Dynomax Super Turbos.
I would like a deep throaty sound witha nice rumble at idle.
Thanks

Lots of people have ran side exhaust on their V6 Mustangs. What year is yours?

they make kits, the trick is you need a muffler whos in and out pipe is on the same side OR a really small muffler that can fit before the bend needs to be made (magnaflow or what not)

The Dynomax super turbo's were used on the Roush mustangs till 2001 then they switched to Magnaflow. The Dynomax Turbo is probably a little louder but the Magnaflow is a litle more free flowing

Spintech supposedly makes a good side exhaust muffler. There are several people with Roush's that have changed form the stockers to Spintechs and vastly liked the sound better.

Spintech's sound good but their quality is very suspect. several people have had them come apart including a couple of people on 3.8. The welds are inferior. Justang I believe on 3.8 had his unravel and go under the tire yanking his exhaust out. There are many good sounding mufflers. So keep a open mind and dont follow the pack. Dynomax Super turbos can be had for under $50 each. Last summer they had a national sale and you could pick up super turbos for $38. That is a unbeatable price.

Mine is 1999, I was trying to decide between the Magnaflow and the Dynomax super turbos, I'll probably get the Dynomax as I would actually prefer them to be a bit louder, as long as it isn't as annoying like a 4 banger thru a fart can.
I guess now just need to find some nice exhaust tips.
Thanks for all the input

i have super turbos.. its pretty cool in my oppinion.. but if ur lookn for that signiture sound well.. u might need to spread ur pockets.. at idle is okay little louder than my old flow masters.. but at high rpm, it sounds almost genious for a six.. haha.. i mean i've had flowmasters/ flomaster dumped...never really sounded as good as the turbos..and it feels a hair faster.. (less restrictive) also.. i'm not very modded and if it sounds this good, i'd say it'll sound better when fixed up..

I'm still thinking on the side exhausts, I never have been a fan of turbo mufflers,I believe we have worked out a way to run side exhausts with glass packs.
I know what they sound like on a V8 , but not on a V6.
Has anyone one tried glass packs on a V6, or know one that has?
I had a 69 Torino GT w/ 351 Windsor running cherry bombs out the side , I really liked the sound, and if i could get close to that, I would be happy with it.
Thanks

Yes there are a few people running chery bombs on different V6 forums. The problem though is in the higher RPMs there is a buzz that would almost be Ricer sounding. They are loud though but so are Dynomax Super Turbo's
