t-4 trans questions

unfortunately the Capri i own came into my hands with a t-4 4speed, i was told that this is a very weak transmission,

now my question is, is it really that bad or will it be able to stand a couple passes down the track

and if it is as bad as ive been told it is, does any one have a t-5 they wanna get rid of?

Never heard of a T-4.You must be talking about the SROD trans.I think you'll be fine taking it down the track.

i dunno thats what the fellow i bought it from told me, supposedly its out of a v6 model capri

one of my buddies had an 82 GT with a T4.. it never died on him, shifted great every time, but the gear ratios were not so great for full-power & the shifts weren't as crisp as ... even a t5s would be

he upgraded to a T5 and dropped 4 tenths in the 1/4 he's running low 13s out of a near-stock 1989 roller 302 with a cam, long tube headers, MSD ignition and a nice carb.. nothing else
