one of my buddies had an 82 GT with a T4.. it never died on him, shifted great every time, but the gear ratios were not so great for full-power & the shifts weren't as crisp as ... even a t5s would be
he upgraded to a T5 and dropped 4 tenths in the 1/4 he's running low 13s out of a near-stock 1989 roller 302 with a cam, long tube headers, MSD ignition and a nice carb.. nothing else
