I just installed a B&M Ripper Shifter, and I love it. Until I hit second or fourth!
It was doing it before, with the stock shifter. The stick hits the center console and I cant get it in second or fourth gear with out holding it. Its like my tranny needs to be closer to the front. According to buddies 5.0 it does, but why? So im driving around with the boot and cover off my shifter. Any help would be appreciated. It has been wrecked...But you wouldnt even know it.
how bad was it wrecked? Got a pic of the area where the shifter is? how is the trans mount? my 89 wouldn't go into second or 4th after snapping one side of my trans mount launching at 4k RPMs on ET streets

the bellhousing is anywhere from 5/8's to 3/4 of an inch longer than the fox bodies, and the input shaft is longer also, meaning that the shifter would be moved back about 3/4 of an inch using one of those transmissions. If the car is wrecked, it could have been replaced, along with the car being slightly "shorter" than it was before.
