I just put some 245/40zr18 (front) and 265/35zr18's (rear) on my 05 V6 Mustang. I want to close the gap between the tire and fender, but I was wondering since it is more noticeable on the rear than the front would just getting a rear coil over kit work, or should I just get all new lowering springs?

i'd definately drop the front and back if your going to drop it. Full coil overs would be nice if you can afford them.

The reason you have the gap there between your tires and the fenders is this, your tires aren't as tall as the stock ones that came on your car! Might be hard to beleive, but I bet if you measure the tire height on the stock wheels and tires that came on your 05 you will find those low profile 18s to be shorter than your stock ones, and you also probably messed up your speedometer at least some. You might have to buy a chip to fix that. I am former Air Force, Supply, Mat. Facilities Spec, Feb 70 til Apr. 73, don't envy you being in Alaska man!
The stock GT 17s that came on my 06 pony pkg have very little of that gap at all.

Rick,
I worked out the math on the tires, with the new ones I lost an inch and I want to make that up inorder to put the springs on that I bought. But up here having a lowered car means lots of dragging along the roads. I used the Diablo Tuner to get the speedometer set right so thats not a worry. I wish I could load up a new picture I added Roush Side skirts and painted calipers. You can turn the outside of a V6 into GT style before you know it.
