P&P'd upper and lower...

Alrighty guys, this is my plan, let me know if you think the gains would be cost effective.
I want to get some ported and polished upper and lower intake manifolds. I will either order them from supersix or see if I can find a good place locally that does it. (I've heard of one, but I don't know where it's located). Would it be better to just get a new set of intakes, or ,if I can find a reputable shop with experience, would it be just as good to take them locally to have the stockers P&P'd?
I would also be getting either a 65mm or 70mm TB to go with this. I know the stock TB is 60mm, so would the 65mm be worth bothering with? Or would the extra money for 5mm more be worth it for the 70mm?
Also since I am forced induction, what are the hp and tq gains you would expect to see out of this. TMA turbo on 10 psi with the power in my sig on an auto split port. I would not be getting the heads and cam as I don't want to tear into the block until I have another car as a back up, so that is out of the question for right now.
Also, would any of you local guys know of a good machine shop that has experience doing this work? Like I said, I know there is one, but I don't know where it's at. I think it was in Huntsville...
Thanks.

more airflow means more hot air crammed into your intakes. you would also lose some velocity. To get max performance you would want your heads matched... I'd find a performance shop that has a flow bench you could test it on before getting into it.
but hey i could be wrong.

Hmm...where is this place located and do you have a phone number? I must admit, I'm a little gun shy after the "previous experience" which I told you about at the track...
Also, what ya'll think about getting the 65 or 70mm?

The whole point of forced induction is more air.
The air is already intercooled, so yeah it's hot but it's probably about stock temps if not a little lower.
I MIGHT loose some velocity, just because it's not all trying to cram into a smaller space, but the added air flow would more than make up for it. Especially if I have a turbo ramming it in there like, well you know, the sort of things Nate likes to do...
I know the matched heads would help, and so would a cam. I don't have the added time or money to be without the car for the week it would take me to instal a power pack. The rest will just have to wait until I have a back up car and this one becomes the weekend project car. So just intakes for right now...

I would get them from someone like rpm or supersix since you know they have a good bit of experience doing them. Might as well just save up and get heads/intakes/cam all at the same time, or better yet... buy a spare motor block and start building it.

lol. Once bit of advice I can give you is: Do it right the first time even if that means waiting to get it done. Dont expect it to happen overnight and do the research so you know what you are getting into. Buy your stuff from a very good place even if it costs more (you get what you pay for even if the part is more you may get superior service and backing behind it) and when you mod you create problems, the more you mod the more crap brakes/messes up so get used to it and expect it.
I tried to go cheap on a couple things and boy... did it turn around and kick me in the butt...
Intakes are not hard to install at all~ just takes time and a bit of knowledge~ If you buy a block and build a motor you can take your sweet time.

No, the intakes are easy. It's the whole power pack that I won't be doing until I have another car. There's nothing wrong with the block I have. So once I have the second car, I'll just build the stock one.
BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M DOING RIGHT NOW!
I'm only doing the intakes for now, so anyway. I've kind of been leaning toward just getting them from supersix because I know they've done it, but that's sort of what I said about the last event.

I understand what your saying. It's just going to be a while until I can do everything. And I'm stuck on the 350hp number, so I'm going to do the intakes to bump me up to that number thereabouts, and then not do anything else for quite some time.

Didn't you PM me thru V6Power about a cam Robert?
IMO you should get a set of intakes from RPM, Mik really gets alot from a
stock upper and you could use that type porting. SSM usually suggests 1
of their SSX uppers, fine piece but mucho $ and IMO you don't need it (yet).
SSM and RPM have Core Exchange so you will not have the "local" problem
of downtime. Also, a V6 shop will do much better on the porting job, than a
local place. Us V6 guys have been doing these much longer, in fact I did the
very first one ever, in April of 1999. +13 RWHP/+16 RWTQ. For a mild P&P.

Uh...no but that is my name strangely enough. Unless I did it with one of my many other personallities... I'm not a member of v6power, but I should be.
If I were going to get some intakes, I'd want to get top of the line that way I'm not limited later. I plan to REALLY build this car in a few years.

I guess it was the TMA 10# kit they were using that threw me for a loop
Good numbers Robert, you can make that thing really rock IMO!
