Dealer wants $4775 + tax for new long block, new clutch, replace rear end gasket. 3yr/36k warranty.....
DEAL or NO DEAL??? THAT IS THE QUESTION.
Appreciate any feedback. Before I do it.

what car is this on? you can buy a motor with low miles for WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY less than that depending on what you have and just bolt it up with a 300 dollar clutch~
Ive seen 94-98 v6 motors with low miles go for 100-700 dollars for instance.

Yes, it's the 4.6 SOHC 2V...
I've seen longblocks online for $2950 with $450 core rebate, but most shops in my area want $1500 for labor (without clutch, rear end seal, and upper intake cleaning). I believe then I'd have to reuse my water pump, front cover , misc.
Then I think about the warranty and service down the road, where the dealerships are nationwide.
Any other feedback?

youre seriously gonna drop 5k into the car and still have a stock 4.6?
go buy a nice rotating assembly kit, be it cobra internals or such, and have a shop install and balance the whole assembly. then get a nice set of heads and cams, and stick the motor back in. itll cost a lot less than ford would charge, and itll be a whole lot better to spend 4k on a nice setup than 5k on a stock motor.

An average driver will put 36k miles on it before the year is up.

I'd pick up a very nice shortblock for around 3500 with accessories like a high capacity oil pan and a performance oil pump. Then you will have a forged/balanced rotating assembly that can hold up to some major power later on...
if you don't plan to go with boost then you can bump the compression up to around 10.5:1 and have some good torque out of the deal. Plus nitrous loves compression
Shortblocks

Very nice short blocks on that site Whipster! Exactly what I was looking for. What do you think my total cost would be including heads, cams, valvetrain, etc. Cant forget the remove/install, assembly, and tuning labor. Im on a tight budget of $5k.

if you are going to have a shop do the install, its gonna jump over the 5k mark. i would expect at least 1500$ charge for removal and installation, more if theyre gonna do heads, cams and shit like that.
doing a motor swap is a costly thing, and can get real ugly real quick, but if you can do the work yourself and outsource as little as possible, it can be done for under 5k.
