It has begun. With about seven hours of work i pulled everything from the engine back minus the rear end Radiator has been pulled. The motor has been separated from the harness A/C lines and Fuel lines and all fluids have been drained. On a installer note the t-5 tranny is so light, you can muscle it by hand without a tranny jack. I got it chained up where the A/C pump bracket bolts to the head and one of the top tranny bolt holes. It's coming out first thing tomorrow. I will post some picks tomorrow when I'm finished.

I could almost swear they stopped using t-5's in like 94-96 area. I thought you would have a t45???? Just wondering..

Naw it was a t5 in all of the v6's. They put a T45 in the 99 gt and stopped somewhere in 01 where they went to the tremec. The input and output shaft are different compared to the fox body and sn-95 v8 stangs. I will post closer pics of the T5 later.

I have been slacking on the pictures, i will try to get some tomorrow, anyway i got the motor and the tranny out of the gt. They got this monster air/hydraulic tranny lift. it made getting the tranny out pretty easy. After that i removed the motor from the top. I was working on the steering rack swap when i stopped. I will try to get some pics tomorrow.

i think they are still using t-5s unless the 05's got the t-45 as well (and very well may have) I know up until 04 they put t-5s in the v6s and they were one of the best/strongest ever made the only problem is in 99 they swaped to a digital readout so you have to swap tailshafts with a pre 99 car to get it to work right~ but no big deal.

I finished the major stuff on thursday. The motor, tranny, rearend are all in. The car is back at my house now to do the little stuff, since the do it yourself garage was charging $24 a day per car it was getting expensive. All i have left is to bleed the brakes and bleed the hydroboost and install the radiator. Oh and also get the key reprogrammed. I will post some pics tommorow
