Well, I was looking at my tires the other day and noticed the tread was about half it was when I bought it. Looks like I've forgotten that I've driven twenty thousand miles since I've bought it. So I'm figuring I have another ten to twenty thousand miles left on them. So I'm about to be in the market for some new rims too.
So I remember seeing these online and looked them up again. Apparently the price has dropped way down. A listing of $734.00 for a set of 17x9/17x10.5 with Hankook H405, locking lug nuts, stems, and Cobra center caps.
O.E. Wheels list the specs of the tire to be:
Rear tire 275/40/17
Front tire 245/45/17
Treadwear 340
Traction A
Temperature A
Speed 130mph The only thing a know about tires is how they read. But, I'm guessing these aren't the tires I'm looking for huh?

I am telling you that you need to look into the General Exclaim (UHP) Ultra High Performance tire. I bought a set of 4 from Tire Rack for 354.00 shipped. They are the highest rated tire tire rack sells for traction, wear and just about every catagory. Look at the tire rack survey
General Exclaim UHP
Customer Survey Results By Category
The hankook 405 has no mileage warranty and are H rated and rated 360 A for tread wear and traction. The General have a mileage warranty and a 380 AA for traction and wear. All I can say these tires are also the most quiet tires I have ever owned including the Michelins I have had.

Corey!
Why do you have to find a good tire that does not come in a 15" size.

I'm gonna keep doing some research. Thanks for pushing me in the right direction.
Also, do anyone know how good the quality is on O.E. Wheels, the eBay store?

As with anything else Ebay is hit and miss. 90% of the stuff I have bought as been as advertised and of good quality but I choose carefully by their ratings and will very rarely buy from noobie's on Ebay. You just never know

Why'd you have to have a tire that doesn't come in 275's.

Are you talking to me??? If so the Generals come in 275. I priced them. 245's are $76 and the 275 is around $98 Tire Rack just does not have them in stock but can order them

they look good, but having the wrong size tire up front ruins it for me. I also had those style (chrome on mine) on my 97 and loved it, right after I got them EVERYONE had them but... that doesnt change the looks of them.

Well they also sell them for a little over $500 shipped for just the 17x9 rim. I think I might just get them and then buy the tire later. Seems like a better deal.
Now what is the exact tire size I should be looking for?

275/40/17 inch tire for a 17x9 rim NO OTHER SIZE. I would go with yokahoma avs es100 tires 129 each~ good tire, good life, looks really nice. Kumos are PILES OF CRAP fyi.
who makes those rims, AFS?

eagle has issues with balancing, AFS seem to be pretty good. I have heard issues of them pealing (the chrome) but I have not see any of this~ seems to only be a few. I would MAKE SURE i have a warranty for XX amount of time to cover such a thing.
