As some of you might have realized, I was not here all weekend. This was due to me being home back in Iowa and going to a wedding... but anyway, back to the story. I start to come home on my 400 mile trek leaving from here in Lawrence, when I get on the highway, get to about 50mph and find myself sideways in the middle of the interstate since my back end flew out from behind me while I was accellerating on the interstate. I was hydroplaning... Ive never had this happen as bad as it did to me this weekend, and when I found myself sideways on the interstate, I was lucky enough not to panick and just slowly countersteer myself out of the situation. Well after that fiasco, I got off on the next exit (another exit that goes to/from lawrence) and went on a hunt for tires. Finding 295/35/18s is not easy... they need to be special ordered. Well I ended up with some new Firestone Firehawk wide ovals, and theyre sweet. But yeah, hydroplaning = bad... so go check those tires guys, make sure you have some tread.

should be more "RWD+Power+Rain=Near Death Experience".

Nah it had to do with how bald my tires are. Got new tires and have no problems now... If you look on tire rack or something at the goodyear f1 supercars, youll see the tread doesnt look like it channels water whatsoever... Ill be the first to testify to that claim. I literally felt like I was on ice with the rear tires. Thank god my fronts are still good.

That happend to me one time, but it was a local road that had going home traffic. I was leaving my old work in my gt and the tires on it were VERY low o n tread and I started to go out turning left next thing I know I spun around and luckly everyone slowed down. Freak me out and I just went right so it wouldn't happen again lol.

that's how i wrecked my car. I had great wet traction tires but in seconds the road had almost an inch of ice. It didn't matter that my tires were in almost perfect condition.
