My Mustang 2002 V6 feels like it hesitates or the transmission shifts up and down at 40 to 50 MPH when going up a hill.

How long has it been since you changed the transmission fluid? I changed my auto every year and went no longer than 24k miles~ its not to expensive and it REALLY makes them last longer. I would try this to see if it firms it up.

I own an '02 V6 Mustang with the same problem. I changed the transmission fluid a couple of weeks ago and it's still happening. I just bought the car in November, and it still has a warranty on it, so I'm planning to have it checked out soon.
I'm hoping the transmission isn't going to drop out of it. It already had high milage when I bought the car, and I worked as a merchandiser and put a lot of miles on the car in the past 6 months.
Other than it slipping between 40-50 mph, the car runs great.

My Mustang mostly hesitates when under load (going up a hill). The car doesn't shake. It feels like a small push - two to three times then it stops. It has plenty of power and if I raise the speed of the vehicle it stops. I have already replaced the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter and cleaned the MAF sensor.

im going to point to the transmission but there are many variables in that area, dont commit to paying for anything yet see what ford says first.
