a few days ago i was driving down tht highway and i saw a tibouron gt v6 and i pulled up next to him and took off and he went after me. we were about even until i shifted into 4th. then i slowly pulled away. i thought it was odd b/c everyone i know said that a tibouron gt v6 will smoke me in a race. but i guess i showed them.

not saying that... just, I know my car made almost no power above 80 mph... felt anemic to tell you the truth... but if it were down around 70, I could manually put her in 2nd gear, and surprise some v-8 drivers with how quick she jumped to 80.. and then just shut her down like I was 'too good' to finish the race ... but yeah, down from near a stop, it's a totally different race. Torque comes in to play... gearing comes in, all that sorta thing. When you're at interstate speeds, there are just too many things limiting the race.

standard ricer excuse.
theyre not that great, supposedly they can get a mid 14 with the right driver, but like most drivers with imports, that aint gonna happen. i guess though theres a tuning apparatus that works on both the tibby and celica that takes almost a second off the 1/4 time because the cars run so rich and little timing from the factory, but it costs like $1200 bucks.

A dude that Kyle raced who had a specv said the same thing. I think it was missed gears, fuel is off, clutch was bad, and I think a couple more as the conversation progressed. Then again, he was claiming 240ish hp in a car that puts like 180 stock with just upgraded injectors. Silly ricers. lol

there sure is, its called boost, IE fake displacement. everytime you double the amount of air the engine compresses per stroke than it could being naturally aspirated you double the displacement the motor makes.
in these times, displacement means jack shit.

That's not entirely true. A bigger motor (given a similar capability to withstand the pressure) will make more power at the same boost levels, and therefore, has more potential.
Just imagine if your 4.6 was a 7.0...

those cars arent shit. i pulled into a BK one night and this guy in a v6 tib was behind me revving in the drive thru, so i threw one back and he followed me onto the interstate and went from a 60 roll..................i gave him the jump and he got destroyed............like horrible. we got off the interstate and he asks me what i have done to that GT. i tell him its a 6 and actually had to pull into the gas station to prove to him i had a 6.
from a redlight it wasnt any difference

Even the integra GSR or whatever are slow too...my STOCK '00 V6 took a guy in one of those integra's. When we got to the next red light he was like "what have you got in that thing?" when i told him he was beat by a stock V6 he was shocked. Rice Rockets always think they are badass when all they have in intake and a 5 inch exhaust pipe that sounds like a leaf blower.

I've used that excuse, except it was "I spun through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd"...and I did catch up once I found traction. lol 30* night and 450+ ft/lbs don't mix. lol
