Does anyone know or has anyone put the stock sc that comes on the 3.8thunderbird engine onto a 3.8 six? I know I would get more out of a vortech or a procharger but I was curious about the thunderbird sc. Also with modifiying the engine and doing some modifying to the supercharger how much power do you think could be gained? Thanks.

It winds up being you need the entire engine, harness, raditator, and a new tune. It's been done and proven.
Not a favorite site on this board, but here is a write-up on the S/C itself.
Video of a completed swap.
And the guide of all the parts you will need.
It's really not a cost effective swap. It's more for the "show-off" factor. I know someone is attempting to mount the M112 on a V6. His progress can be seen here.
And cause I think this is funny.

it is usually a waste of time and effort~ unless you just want to do it as a project and can do it cheap.

So, I think your best bet is to talk to Andy at TMATurbo.com.

a root supercharger on a stock bottom end = BAD unless you push like low boost, run it up very high and your asking for it.

Yea, that's why everyone says get the entire engine. I think the stock boost is around 12psi.

It's 8# in the manifold, but 12# @ the blower top.
They lose ~4# thru the IC & tubing.

I dont think it is a waste. You do need a entire engine though to make it cost effective. It has the ability to make more HP than the Thunderbird SC had stock

Someone that is VERY good with doing their own mods (porting etc) and mechanic work
and is willing to find the best deals on stuff like I did in the old days (pre-2000)
can make an SC-based V6 Mustang really run for little $$$. But it takes time and
skill, otherwise you are gonna do alot of unneeded work and spend lots of money
that is going to give results that are rather lackluster compared to a good turbo
or centrifugal SC kit. I'd suggest turbo or ATI/Vorteck instead for 99% of the V6
SC-wannabees out there, it's easier and cheaper with better HP overall.
