i was wondering if any of you guys know what cars i can beat in a race?? i just would like to know. b/c like i said before, my friend in his civic said he could beat me. but i know he's wrong about that. but what about a 89' crx si? or a 96 pontiac grand prix se? or a newer pontiac grand am gt, and probe gt?? b/c i know people w/ those cars and they all said they could win in a race. and i can shift and start off the line really good so that wont be an issue.

basically anything that runs slower than a high 15 you can beat. You cant just say you can beat X car cuz you simply never know whats been done to them.

yeah i know, but all those cars i mentioned are all stock except the 96 grand prix se, it only has a cai

There's only one way to know for sure..............
If you get beat, you get beat. There's always gonna be something faster than you, no matter what you drive. Unless maybe you drive a Top Fuel car. If you're happy with how fast it is, that's all that matters. If not, do something to change it!  |

yeah but my dad keeps bitching at me, saying that i am just making my used motor work harder by buying stuff for it to make it faster.

i actually picked up gas milage when I did all my mods but gears. a street race nearly never tells the whole story, you could beat a car WAY faster than you due to the driver mod (bad driver) and other such factors, the only way to KNOW is to go to the track.

What does it matter if you lose a race? Does it mean anything? Not at all.
If you dont race someone because youre not sure that youll win, you have to rethink the car scene, because there's always someone faster, and always someone that will beat you. |

I used to have a 95 probe GT with a few boltons and i could beat most any v6 stang or camaro unless they had major boltons or something however they were always close races most of the time. The Crx won't be a problem unless he has a motor swap done. The pontiacs would prolly be a lil closeer with u coming out in top in the end since ur car is not stock.

heres how i see it
1st keep it at the track since thats the only way YOU can measure YOUR improvments
2nd parents will bitch just ignore them about X subject and move on
3rd doesn't matter who runs X time and you run X time because there are soooooo many factors other than just the vehicle
4th just run em who cares you you win you win great, if not oh well at least you know
just have fun you win some you lose some its a fact of life

I walked a grand am GT few months back if that helps you any. All I had was intake/exhaust/chip.
