Should I trust getting drilled/slotted rotors on ebay? They dont have a brand name or anything listed... they just say its OEM. For all 4 its only 140. There are a few sellers that have these. I know I dont need drilled/slotted rotors unless i race or whatever, but if its a good deal, why not? I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with these or any input.

There really is no need for drilled/slotted rotors besides looks. Also, most of the cheaper ones will crack and warp much much easier than oem plain rotors. If you need new rotors, I'd recommend just getting factory rotors again. About as good as you'll find anywhere.

they warp and possibly crack very quickly (some good brands dont as quick) the reason you see these type brakes on exotics as they took into account the mass they are losing and the heat and made them big enough to overcome these issues (yea they look good thats why they are there mainly), but... you wont have that luxury. If you look at a real race car you wont see drilled/slotted rotors, and if they have holes they are not drilled they are preformed like that when made (stronger)

the best thing is to go plane or some simple slots from a good brand (brembo for example) and get a coating to prevent rust.

You could upgrade to cobra front brakes for 200 bucks~ since you need rotors now anyway, and that makes a TON of difference.

As for cross-drilled, that's not gonna be necessary, and a waste IMO. But as for slotted, that's the way to go. I have my powerslot rotors now for somewhere in between 4-5 years now and they still perform like a champ. A few pluses is that they don't rust like oem ones, thats a big plus in my book. Nothing is uglier than seeing rusted out rotors through chrome rims or something of the sort. Also, I stop way better than i did with my oem ones and powerslot rotors are cadium plated so they a wear-resistant. Here's a l;ink if you're interested about learning more about these rotors.POWERSLOT - Faster Stops Made Easier These are somewhat expensive rotors. If you're interested I can get you a front set for $210+shipping and the rear set for $190+shipping.

to upgrade you need the calipers, the brake lines, and the rotors along with brake pads (but most come with pads) you can get the calipers for 200 bucks, a bit less plane (dont go plane) and like 220 painted (bullitt style etc etc) and the brake lines are cheap (oem) or stainless (much better) for 75~ and of course the price of cobra rotors.

For the rear simply paint the caliper and be done with it.

Don't forget to mention with 13" rotors you have to have a minimum of a 17" wheel. IMO upgrading your brakes if you have a 99+ V6 is a complete waste of money. 99+ have aluminum cast, dual piston calipers. That's all you're ever gonna need unless you get up there with crazy numbers. Granted you can still modify them somewhat with better rotors and steel brake lines, but if you switch over to cobra calipers, all you're really paying for is the name. You're better off painting you current calipers and calling it a day. The 94-98 Mustangs came with steel cast, single piston calipers. Upgrading these to the 99+ caliper should be a definate-to-do mod. You lose weight and gain better stoping power.

well the calipers on teh 99 up are just about as good as the cobra calipers, the advantage is in the extra rotor size. There is a HUGE difference as well, after having the cobra brakes you have so much more control over braking lol. Its cheap and looks/works great~ you dont have to have it especially on 99 up but its a very nice addition.
