Anyone ever known anyone to use the boost cooler (50%water/50%methonal)? I'm looking into instead of an intercooler in line with a Vortech supercharger. Just wanted to hear of any personal esperiences with it.

I have heard that they are too expensive for no better than they work. They work well, but most of the time people still run intercoolers in addition to something like meth, or nitrous, or CO2.

It says up to 60hp gain on a minimal boost, for $399 the kit comes with everything except the water/methanal. If I go with the cooler I'm looking at around 600 for the intercooler without the piping and only a 40hp gain at most. I'm leaning towards the booster just wanted to see what the community thought. Thanks for the reply.

Hrmm...that's pretty pricey. Like I said most people usually run IC's in addition to that and Co2 or nitrous both work better than methanol. Plus I don't like the idea of having to drill into your manifold for most of those direct injection kits.

I would get a decent IC and then get the cryo2 kit on ebay with the intercooler sprayer for about $250 (I've seen them for that sometimes). Those can be refilled at paintball shops. Nitrous works the best but it's more expensive to get refilled. CO2 is cheap.

Well we all need to know what level of boost you will be running. If it is indeed low boost, I suppose that will work because you wont be using it all the time.

However if you use it as a replacement for an intercooler and plan on running more than about 5psi (when some form of cooling device is needed) you will end up having to refill the tank quite often as you should be using it quite often. This gets expensive, i have not priced methanol, but I'm sure over the first few months you could have paid the extra and just gotten an intercooler that works continuously.

I will still stand by having the intercooler first and using these other devices to add to the performance of the intercooler because of efficiency and dependability, and no "woops I forgot to fill the tank".

Plus if you just spent about $100 more you can get a nitrous based cooling system that works worlds better than anything else.

Just my .02

I agree, I looked into the CO2 system and decided it's almost as much as a nitrous kit. If I ever get the urge, I'll just get the NAWZZ!!!
