i have an AUTOMATIC 02 v6 and i've been reading on here that one of the first mods other than exhaust and all that good stuff is a shift kit. what does the shift kit do and what are the gains? anyone know where to find one??? |

i want a chip but they are all around $300-400..im looking for something a little more inexpensive.. (besides the intake, exhaust, and all that). i am ordering 4.10's and underdrive pullies and as i was looking at a thread to mod a v6 there was a shift kit. worth buying? |

a manual valve body shift kit works good but... if they mess up you can be out a transmission so make sure you get a good kit have a great installer and do the research into it first.

A shift kit will cost about 80.00 to 100.00 Plus the install. IMO I'd save and get the chip

Hey, if you have an automatic and you are going with 4.10's, you will need a tune to correct your speedometer.

thanks guys.. thanks for that info too lowflyn. i never heard that before. im pretty bummed now. looks like everything ties together which = more money.. how much does a chip with tune usually go for? |

I just picked up an XCal2 from vmptuning.com and I love it. You can do alot with it, and use it for 99% of your future mods.
