As the title states i'm looking for some new music. Rock/metal is what i'm looking for. For some examples i'm looking for bands like.

Tool, Tool, and Tool. If you like metal, pick up "Opiate" (which is only an EP), "Undertow" and "Ænima" first. They are overall a little "harder" than the newer albums, "Lateralus" and "10,000 Days".
Although I'll warn you, once you get into them... you may have a hard time listening to other crap.

From your tastes Ive read in thge past and those you have there I think youd like them. 12pack you listen to some good music, I have never met anyone who listens to Strapping Young Lad.
Hatebreed is the band that got that kid to go crazy and jump to his death right in front of me at that show, if anyone remembers, like 3 months ago.
But some of my favorites, that you may like sonic...
Hell Within
As I Lay Dying(like Atreyu)
If Hope Dies
Blindside
Older Static X(or new)
Check out Children of Bodom's, "Are You Dead Yet?" or "Hatecrew Deathroll" if you want some alcohol fueled speed metal.
Try Lamb of God too, maybe a bit too much though.
