So theres an argument going on over at 3.8 about roush badges on a non roush car. IMO you shouldn't badge ur car something that its not, even if it has roush parts. This includes banners that say roush, etc...
JUST my opinion 
what do u guys think? just out of curiousity...
ps: i'm not trying to start an argument, i only posted this to see what others have to say too

badge your car to what it is....that like me putting cobras all over my car...i have a gt

It's not a roush. Why do you need a Windshield banner on a car that says "Roush" if it isn't a Roush? |

Im pretty partial on it, i see it as somewhat wrong, but then again i see it as advertising as well. Just like if you have a KN intake and put the kn decal on the side, if you have flowmasters and throw that decal on the side window as well ect.Since he's going to be keeping the tri-bars on the side and throwing a 3.8 badge on the rear that definitely a +.

my car came with an SVT badge where the GT one would go... and i have a v6. i dont like the idea... so that came off the day i bought it.

In my opinion, windshield stickers look stupid either way. But to put one saying Roush across your windshield when you don't have a Roush...
I'll leave it at that. |

But what if you have done a complete conversion? I have a friend with a 00 gt that has been converted into a SS81SC complete with the supercharger. To be honest, I think it goes with the car if you have done a complete conversion, otherwise, no.

The more I ask about it, the more he avoids it...so I'm thinking no. And he's not pushing the Saleen PSI of boost either. I dunno, the interior is still all gt, no badging inside. Just the saleen body kit, wheels, winshield banner, and supercharger.

if you have roush products, why not have the badges? (so long as you don't advertise you have one of the limited-run roush-built cars..)

Never misbadge. It not only is a lie, but can be very embarassing for the person who says he has a Cobra, Saleen, etc.
Sorta like the bride wearing all white to a wedding when everyone knows she is the town slut!! |

i fully agree.
i have a roush kit, but if someone asked, i tell em straight up "its just a GT". though most dont know what roush is, and those who do, prolly know a fake from a true roush.
now if i were to go all roush and get every single part a roush has, then maybe i would consider it a roush, but it would still have started as a GT and been built to "Roush Specs".
same with cobra badges on a GT. id only stick them on if i had a forged 4.6 with the cobra blower setup and a 6spd, and i put down cobra numbers, but t would still consider it a "GT built to Cobra Specs".

The way I see it is that even if someone gets all the Roush, Saleen, Cobra, whatever parts... the car still was not built by said manufacturer. When Saleen modifies a Mustang, they put their badges on it. Same for all the others. Even if you have every single part that was different on them, they still didn't put it together. You did. So put your own badges on there or leave 'em off. |

if you dont own that type of car you should not put the badges on it, just because you have saleen ground effects (about all they are anyway...) doesnt mean you have a saleen. Same with roush.
