Went to test and tune Friday night and ran a few times.
First was a disgusting 9.42.
Second was a 9.04.
And the third was a 8.85!!
Finaly got the 8 sec 1/8 mile, and well within.
I had to just about fire up my tires and was able to hold place at a little over 2k power braking for the launch. The 60 ft was still about 2.20 and the top speed was 83.35.
Woot!

Nice, I watched some races tonight, couldn't talk myself into hitting the track though, it was way too unorganized tonight.

I also know you had a good 60ft for an auto, still can do a bit better but thats not bad. If you have some 15 inch rims you can slap some skinnys on the front and some 235s in a good sticky tire out back and you will do a bit better~ they dont weigh as much.

If this is Huntsville...you need to go out on a Saturday night and run after the big boys. Unless they are running, they don't do shit for track prep. The difference between the two is huge. In my car, I can spin the tires off the line at 2500 rpm. With the track prepped for the big boys...I could hold a 5000 rpm launch on Mickey T's drag radials and never even hear a chirp out of the tires.

You're running right up there with me, now. I ran a 2.0196 and a 2.0838 in the 60' last time we went out there. My 1/8th miles were 8.69@83.69 and 8.79@83.61. I'll have drag radials on the back, next time we're out there...but it would make an interesting ME showdown.

Thanks.
The 60 ft wont get lower without a stall and tires (exact 60 was 2.17) and no there isn't a 1/4 track close by. If I'm not mistaken, the closest is in Nashville...

Press the brake with my left foot. Torque it up a little bit with my right. When it's time to go, let off the brake and ease the gas to the floor.

make sure the track is preped good to, that will help. They generally do a crappy job unless they are having some sort of race or the really really fast guys are running~

Durp! :p
I knew that part, you must have a higher stall than I do. I only go to about 1750 with the occassional 2000.

When I say a little bit, I mean a little bit. About 1000-1200rpm. Any more than that and I just spin. I'm hoping for 1.8s with the new tires.

Wow, it must be the crazy LS1 torque.
On the easing into the gas, I've wondered about that sometimes, because sometimes it seeems like I accelerate more quickly and smoothly if I ease into it rather than just floor it. There is a fine line but if you find it, it seems like that's better...has anyone ever proven if that "magic" point is really faster?
