So my dad took the '90 (it's an LX hatchback, BTW) to work today to run it across the scales. With a little less than half a tank, it weighed right at 3200 lbs... 
I was hoping it would be at least a 100 lbs. or so lighter than that. All the sound deadening has been stripped out. It has no rear swaybar, spare tire w/ jack, or front/rear bumper supports. It also has aluminum heads and a fiberglass hood.
I guess the 4-point cage, subframes, 3-row copper radiator, little 4-channel amp and big wheels/tires add more weight than I expected.
Anyone else weighed their fox? |

my gt hatch with its aod SHOULD weight around 3300-3400

my 89 weighed 3381 with me in it.. weighed 250 at the time = 3131 - half tank of gas, poly urethane body kit, jumper box, tool box, spare tire.. nothing taken out of the car that I know of
my 92 weighs 3329 with me in it, sub frame connectors, and heavier duty upper/lower control arms.. but a lotta weight stripped from the engine bay.. aluminum flywheel and driveshaft to boot 1/4 tank of gas

Dont complain about 3200 pounds, my car weighs about 3700 without me in it and a half tank. I weigh about 165. |
