It was used to crank it up, like a dynamo because of all the massive lots of power such a powerful machine would need!

It was clearly either for "Gran Turismo 4" or "The Price Is Right: The Video Game!".

I was thinking more along the lines of a backpack the size of a 27" tv, with a 27" TV that would show everything.

The first computer I ever worked on took the space of an entire room. It had a mainframe that was a Wang VS100 that was about 3 feet high, 6 feet long and 3 feet wide. The hard drives were on Disc packs that were the size of a small washing machines, there were 5 of them. The control console was about 6 feet tall. The harddrive held an amazing 288Mb each!
I'll never forget when they replaced the VS100 with the VS5000. The VS5000 was the size of a larger desktop.
We were at a loss on what to do with all the extra space.

Yeah, we used a punch card machine. It was like a typewriter. You would load these cards, about 3 inches by 8, and your would type out code or whatever and it would puncture hole like CHADS, hanging chads.
You then would take the cards in and let them be processed and hopefully you didn't screw up. Now adays, you can code and compile on a single machine.
Now it is more fun with WMI and cscripting and some power tools like VB.
