i DO BELIEVE MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING IN MY CAR....I have noticed lately that it takes her a while to get up to 60mph...hell it sounds like she takes longer just to switch gears than she used to...I was thinking maybe she needs another tune up since her last one was a year ago....before I got her tuned up a couple spark plugs were bad and when I changed them all out she ran realy good and felt like she had actual power in her! Now if I was to really get on it it takes forever it seems like for her to get to 60 and actually switch into a gear! HELP!!!!!!

you should change the tranny fluid every year, if you have not done this you should but it may be to late. it may still help though.

Will the car not shift into some gears without letting off the gas?

I paid around 120 at the local ford dealer to have my tranny machine flushed.

if youre going 70-75 in first gear, you have greater problems. The car wont get that fast in 1st gear

well the first gear in your car can not take you to 70mph, second gear may can but first can not. When you drive it normally up to say 55mph how many shifts does it do.
It should go from first to second then from second to thirt and finally from third to fourth (overdrive)

I think it makes it to 4th gear...it just seems like it goes alot more slower than it used to...even my mother noticed it! She used to show cars and fix them up but old age kinda made her forget stuff....I am gonna go buy new spark plugs soon and see if thatds helps but hell I just had a tune up like 6 months ago!~When I put the new spark plugs in she really had power but now its like her age is catching up to her!
