Just a few questions here about headers , 1st there are so many JBA , BBK , Headman , Hooker , Mak , Cam , Ford racing etc LTs , shorties , = length DAMmmm i dont even know where to start.
1st I have a magnaflow catback, off road x pipe , CAI , and a Dibialo Sport tuner , what headers would be best ? is there that much of a difference in a headman to Bassani , headman being half the price? They look the same , also what differences can someon expect with LT to shorties and = length do they just change the power curve or does one set rise above another for all around and bang for the buck.
oh yea , will headers help get rid of that v6 sound the x pipe gave to my car or do i need to go back to cats or a h pipe?????????
thanks again
Steve

Long tubes will change the whole power curve. There will not be a whole lot of difference in peak HP or torque but you will see better gains down in the lower rpm range.

If you get long tubes, you'll also have to buy a "shorty" midpipe to go along with it. I'd recommend the Ford Racing shorty headers if you are set on getting some and don't want to buy a new midpipe. Really though, the stock headers on the GTs are a lot better than those of previous years. The design is much more "header"-like than the more "log"-like design of the earlier 4.6s.
Another thing that will help the sound if you put on a offroad x-pipe is resonators. Because the mufflers are so close to the tips on the 05+, they are bad about getting "trumpeting" with no cats. This is basically that annoying popping sound.
Here is a link with some more info.

jba, hooker and hedman are the best out of the ones you listed. MAC headers suck ASS!
jba's are especially expensive, but they are emissions legal in 50 states

What he said...
Notice...the word Headers....
And...CAI and tuning alone will pick up 30ish....then add in headers...being NA, he will gain well from headers.
If I ever get them, I will show you some before and afters of stock 05+ GTs after some effective dyno tuning...

I knew they had improved the heads and had some bad ass flow but DAM. I haven't even seen those kind of gains on an NA 4V motor is why I asked.

Well, I just came from looking at some charts on cars with the exact same mods...well, long tubes, mid pipe, cat back, CAI and tune...and they were putting down 315-320 rwhp STD....I forgot what the torque was off hand...but I will have the charts at some point and will see. So, yeah, I guess those other numbers a touch high, unless they are uncorrected...

The first post says no headers...then the other one I quoted says with headers...so I don't know.
To answer question about which ones...go with Stainless Works...they are gorgeous...and expensive...
