Leaky top, seals clogged, ?????? Any suggestions, input???
Hey there, we are new to the site, recently acquired a beatiful 01 GT Ragtop. Love the car, ......but, during this rainy Memorial Day weekend, we discovered the top, seals, or drains, (if such a thing) are leaking, clogged, any or all of the above. The car is in excellent shape, rubber seals appear to be good. Unfortunately, due to too much stuff in the garage, our baby, has NOT made it in the garage yet.
So, I had an idea this morning, to check for a message board on Stangs, to see if we might learn a thing or 2 about this current issue, as well as much more about our new baby, from other happy, Stang owners.
We are located in the RAINY Pacific NW, Kent, WA area, this is an awesome area, when the sun is shining, we chose a convertible over a road bike to enjoy this and many more summers cruising in style feeling the sunshine and wind cooling us.
I greatly appreciate any advice on this subject, and look forward to getting to learn and know more about our pride and joy, as well as getting to know others that own mustangs, and hopefully find a club or group near us to join and share our joy of mustangs,as well as get out and have fun together.
I hope you all are enjoying this holiday weekend!

First off, welcome to the site, and nice ride. Uhm...I've never heard of ppl having a problem with the front of the top leaking. Something you can check however is have someone sit in the car and look for leaks while you blast all the seals with water. If nothing else, you can figure out what exactly is leaking then...

We have seen that it appears to be leaking between the window frame and door frame. Does anyone know if there are some sort of drainage lines, that may be clogged? It really isn't the top itself, I sure hope that we can resolve this before any water damage or mold or mildew forms.

between the door and the roof you have the seal that follows the window from the door windshield pillar up and over the convertible top roof then around the back window. The next seal is made between the side window and the back quarter window. Other than this there is a seal around the door itself that you can see when the door is open. Wash the car and trace where the water comes in at~ then you can best see where the issue is and how to fix it.
