The Retractable Hardtop 2 Seater Mustang

I have seen the video clip of a prototype based on a 06 body and this hard top Mustang is slick! I was able to get a screen capture of the car in action. The car is close to being a finished product I am told and should be available in 07 .... not 09!! The trunk is untouched and remains the factory size, but the car will be a 2 seater.

Yikes...that should raise insurance rates.
It is great information, however I don't believe a product is coming out as a concept shows until it hits the showrooms. My trust in Ford died when they completely ruined the GT500...which is nothing more than a blah GT with a big engine.
Hopefully this concept does come to life...it would be nice for ford to catch up with the 20th century....(and I know we are in the 21st)

a roadster mustang would be badass IMO. it sould come with a roll cage/light bar, kinda like the audi quattro roadsters have.
though i agree with smurfin, they wont do it. ford has lost all concept in what america wants. it continues to push the "green" enviromentally frienldy crap, and outprice anything performance.
i personally wouldnt make a roadster mustang mass produced, but id take the chassis, and revamp the tbird name into a 2 seater, strap a 5.4 4v 6spd in it and make it a corvette eater at a standard mustang GT price.

Hm...I would actually look at buying a retractable hard top..and 2 seats is even better lol.

I'm surprised rag top convertibles haven't gone the way of the dodo already. I mean, they look great down, but up is blah, bad aerodynamics, more weight. Although I doubt this will fix the weight issue, it will help the other flaws with rag top.
