Trying to decide which one to go with. Any advantages to one over the other? Diablo predator or SCT Xcalibrator? Please weigh in with your choice and why.

Ldrett;
When I picked up my Steeda Stang from the dealer, they had the SCT tune in it. I just had it dynotuned from Paul's High Performance, and they gave me 3 different tunes (stock, middle-91 octane, and aggressive-93 oct.) with my SCT. Paul's uses & sells SCT tuners, but said the predator is a good unit too. I think it's about who's doing the tune for optimal results. I'm completely happy with the SCT.

I've had nothing but good experiences with SCT, and love my xcal2.

Haha, I don't think anyone on this site has really had much experience with predator...

i used a pred to tune a pro charged 01 cobra and i liked it but SCT has more research done with the xcal and stuff. my 03 was tuned with a pred and it was a nice setup but the xcal is alot nicer, quicker and easy to work with.

It seems like nearly everyone with an 05+ is going with the SCT.

I had several diablo chips in my 99GT, none of them did what it was supposed to, the SCT was great first time, no problems.

Yeah, I've heard that Diablo's still have a lot of kinks and bugs.
Delk uses Predator's, and would have gotten me one to do logging and to hold my tune so I could adjust it with but Diablo didn't have models for 3 vin types and mine was one of them so they had to just give me a chip instead.
So far have not heard anything bad about SCT.

In my opinion the software does not matter, the tuners are what matters. Find yourself a repected tuner and go with whatever software he uses.

This is true but at the same time Diablo has not had a good reputation among Mustang enthusiasts. Atleast from what I have seen.

its all software, if the software is not spec'ed right then it wouldnt matter what you put in there. SCT seems to have a better setup than Diablo~ the tunner is of course the MAIN thing if its not tuned good .... dont waste your money.
There are also more than one thing to tune, the wide open throttle tune and the non WOT tune~

STEVE (that doesn't even sound right...) is right here.
The reason I think the Xcalibrator is so big is the simple fact that it is what more of the popular tuners (such as Justin and Doug from Bamachips) prefer.
