you can just put a switch into the stock one and tap into I believe pin #17 on the ccrm that will allow you to switch it on high and leave it on at all times.

Are 5.0's notorious for have cooling problems? Mine runs really hot, to the point where the fans always have to kick in. The previous owner tried to do a quick fix and put a thermostat in but it didnt help, which i figured wouldnt unless the old one was stuck closed.

They run hotter than the 4.6, yes. Do you have an aftermarket temp guage or are you just going by the dummy guages that come stock? I know mine with a 180* tstat runs about 195* on a normal day, and will get up to 220* on a hot day with the a/c blowing. They do run hot though...

Mine has always ran warmer than I would like. I got an electric fan and controller for Delta Current Control, and it seemed to help my temperatures out a lot. I'm not sure if they have kits for the 94-95s or not.
The way they work is with a temperature sensor that sticks in between the radiator fins. Instead of just having two speeds like most fan switches, they allow for a continuous adjustment of voltage based on the temperature. The higher the temperature gets, the faster the fan turns (until it reaches 100% of course). This also means that the fan will not run when it is not needed, without you having to worry about using a switch to turn it on and off. Pretty cool idea.

I have a 180 thermostat, but it keeps getting hotter until the fans kick in.....im going off the dummy gauge but i know its hot because i can hear the fans kick in and shut off every few minutes. When i turn the a/c on, the car actually runs cooler because the fan runs constantly and pulls air through the radiator. I was thinking of tapping wire and putting a swtich on for the fans but if theres a problem i want to fix it. I'm thinking of pulling the radiator out and seeing if the fins are damaged. I already flushed and reverse flushed the system so i know its not clogged.

you need to get a real temp gauge to determine what the temp actually is.

Not sure on the 5.0's but on newer Mustang engines just having a 180 thermostat wont do too much good because the fan will still only kick on at the pre programmed temp. You would need to have the comp programmed to turn the fan on at a lower temp to be getting optimal results.
The older ones, may just be thermostatically controlled so I could be wrong ~

Nah, it defnitely helps. The fans are programmed to come on at like 190*, so that extra little coolant flow for 10* worth of engine temp will help it.
