So I just installed some 295/35/18s and they're close to rubbing the quarter panel out back.
Anyone have any insight on rolling the sharp edge under there?

To be honest I'd recommend having a pro do it. Some ppl can do it by themselves...but I'd rather have a shop do it and blame them when it messes up.

Definately, when it comes to anything that's painted, I leave it to someone else to screw up.

They make a tool to use for doing just this thing (they also make baseball bats... ), but I'd still let someone else screw it up.

you can buy/rent a think that goes on your lug nut studs and just move it back and forth to roll them.

Thanks guys, I'll have to look into a professional who can do this around my area, or find a place to rent the device.

It seems like someone once long ago, used that tool. I don't remember for sure, but it seems like it did work pretty well, but there was a drawback to it of some kind...

What kind of tire+rim combo are you using? I thought 295/35/18's would fit with no problem in the back. I wanted to run 305/35/18's on a 18X10, but if your rubbing i will have to rethink that.

On the rears I'm running 18x10 Saleen replicas, with 295/35/18 BFG Street Drag radials...now these drag radials will be swapped out for Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars in the same profile

I recommend AGAINST the F1's, I had those and they were shit for traction and caused me to hydroplane on the interstate at 65 mph sending me sideways. Ill never touch those tires again.

d00d thats cause its a 5.0.
you know whats funny, for years ive heard of 18x10 DD's out back with 295/205/315 and 1-1.5" drops not a mention of needing to be rolled, then today im talking with our drafting manager and he was like "dude you have to get the fender rolled to fit that", and im like "dude, ive been around stangs for years and never even heard of such a thing, theyll fit fine, youll see".
now i just saw 2 threads in one night(one over at stangnet) about rear fender rolling.

from what i've seen and read its not an issue on the new edge styles as much as the early SN95's. unless you have IRS

Uh, no.
SN95 stangs have the fewest issues, it really just depends on the tire. Some run larger than others, such as the goodyear F1 supercars... theyre more the size of a 305 tire than a 295. My F1s would always scrape the fenders on harsh turning inclines and what not. My new firestone firehawk wideovals dont ever rub because theyre actually the correct 295 size.

I'm with Zim. I've always heard the 94-98s can take the biggest tires without rubbing the fenders. Of course, the foxes are the worst...

I would expect so. A 335 is friggin' huge. 335mm = A little over 13" wide tire.

I have never personally rolled painted fenders, but I've heard the best thing to do is heat up the lip with a heat gun right before you roll them (either with a bat or tool, lol). This will make the paint plyable and allow it to be bent without cracking.
