Cobra Bumper isnt Fitting my GT!

I bought an 04 Cobra front bumper and it isnt fitting my 03 Gt!! I have a Cowl hood from ABC Exclusive and it keeps hitting it when I try to close it. Before with my stock bumper I always had a gap between the hood and bumper. You can tell when you look closely at the stock bumper it steps down on each side of the grill whereas the cobra doesnt (If that makes sense) So whats the prob? |

it's because the Cobra front bumper, and the Cobra hood are meant to work together... therefore, you're new front bumper needs the Cobra hood... you'll never get it to gap up otherwise... the slope of the Cobra hood matches up with the slope of the Cobra bumper, and that slope is different than the v-6 or GT hood/bumper slope.

Ive seem them work together (V6/Gt hood with cobra bumper) Raise the hood stops up, how much does it lack to clear?

You can try moving the top mounting points of the cobra bumper back a few inches, it should move the top of the bumper back and down slightly. That will probably help the difference.

ok I finally got it to fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for all the help!!!!!! It looks Baaaaadddddddd!!!! Man its awesome. Now heres another question.... Will the rear Cobra bumper fit????? |

It will fit but you should ONLY do it IF You have the cobra letters removed, its very very tacky to have COBRA on the back of a non cobra car. This can be done and then you can buy the mustang letter inserts and just put on the bumper or leave it clean. It fits though fine~ you will have to adjust the exhaust tips.

I dont care what part you put where as long as it is not a badge or the word cobra/svt/what not on something its not body parts are fine, it just sucks you cant get the rear with out the words in it...
the cobra side skirts are very nice as well dont over look them

I guess they did that for a reason. I saw a Mustang yesterday in Roanoke that had the Cobra letters filled in. |

yea, everyone has their own opinions but there is NO opinion that can justify putting cobra embles, words, etc on a non cobra car as... it doesnt look any better its only false advertising lol.

Well I ordered 102 Dollar Tips a couple days ago so should I just wait to get the Rear bumper on to put the tips on? Oh Yeah and on the note where you said you dont like when people false advertise..... Well I def agree.... But Its really the only rear bumper I like. If I could get it without the letters I would have. It really wouldnt make since to put a diff rear bumper than the front. Thats my opinion. I dont know......but I do see what you are saying. I had a friend he had a v6 with cobra emblems on it. I wouldnt want to pull up next to a GT or cobra in it hahaha. |

have the shop fill the letters in, that solves the problem. The oem rear looks fine with the front, I had this look for my 01 I never had any issues. The side skirts really set the car off IMO>

Dang you really dont want me to ride around w my car having Cobra on the rear! hahaha. Anyone that knows mustangs will know its a Cobra kit. Hey but thanks for all the advice  |

trust me you will get crap from every mustant enthusiest out there its just the way it is... you can do anything you want but... there is a good bit of hate out there for fake badging a car 
Whats the big deal with filling the letters in wont cost much and may save your car from a key'ing in the future (hopefully this will never happen but there are a good many A-holes out there)

My dearest Apoligies! Please forgive for trying to be more like you hahaha. Well my car may not be the fastest but it sure looks better than alot of others. I've put a pretty good amount in it and theres a lot more to be done. Soon it'll have a supercharger to keep up the Cobras Then, and only then may Earn the right to have the name Cobra on the rear.
I'm just joking w you dont take it seriously....  |
