Ask me and get Flowmasters.
Seriously though, I have a Mac Pro-Chamber and Flowmaster American Thunder catback on my car, and I get all kinds of compliments on it. It sounded great back when I had them on the '91 Convertible with a stock motor, but with the H/C/I on the '90, they really sound awesome together.

with the magnaflow mufflers I had wayyyy too much popping noises if I revved it up at idle.. (I know its from running rich.. but having baffled mufflers cured this 100%)
and bbunt if you have an x303 cam.. my car has the nearly the same gross lift as that cam if I ran only 1.6 RRs (I run 1.7s..)

Actually, my cam is quite a bit milder. It's a Comp 270HR, only .512" lift, 112 LSA, with I believe a 218/224 duration (but don't quote me on that).
One day, I'll probably put some new springs on the heads and go with 1.7 RRs to bring it to .544" lift, unless I go with a custom cam instead.

Simply put there are more people switching to Dynomax. Old school growl is coming back. The drone is dead. My muffler shops ower said to me 4 years ago Flowmaster outsold everything else 4 to 1. Just yesterday I was at his shop discussing switching from 2.25 to 2.5 pipes and he said Dynomax are now selling almost as much as Flowmaster which is huge. He said 2 out of every 3 mustangs are getting Dynomax now. I guess the word is getting around now!!!

Custom
I'd also upgrade to beehive springs at the same time as your RR's or cam,
it's really easy and relatively cheap to convert. I worked up a conversion
for SC heads and it's even easier for 5.0 heads.

They think it is the only cam that can pass emissions. Since a cam is not an
"externally visible" mod, I'd suggest a custom cam that fulfills the needs of
emissions legality and has hotter specs. The #1 biggest determination of
a "clean" cam is overlap. The best known spec for this is .050" overlap.
0* @ .050" is basically the benchmark for passing. Another # is ~30* @ .006"
(same as E303 cam) which is very easy to beat with hotter cams, since the
"E" cam lobes are very lame in ramp rates. There is approximately 61* difference
between the .050" duration and the SAE advertised spec, 281* @ .006", and
Ford's .003" spec is 282* from what I have gathered... there are many nice
lobes that have less advertised duration but the same 220* @ .050" and many
have more lift too, and will easily out-power the "E" cam.
I'm a strong advocate for custom cams if you could not already tell
