Just got a email from Ford !!! It was in responce to a letter I emailed Ford about the trademark name. I clearly stated the reason I was contacting them and also included links to mustangevolution and Brent's Digg It Article Seems Ford doesn't quite understand the contents of the article

You will need to share your exact email with us so we can see what you wrote.
If you were looking for a general response, that group may not be the appropriate entity within FoMoCo to respond. However, if you ask a specific yes or no question, they may assist.
i.e.
Is it true Ford intends to sue MustangEvolution.com's owner for monetary damages?
Is it true Ford intends to take legal action against all fan-based websites which incorporate the Mustang word?
Will a cease and desist order be offered prior to a lawsuit?
Will all owners of sites which can reasonably be determined to infringe on Ford's copywrite be contacted personally by Ford's legal council?
etc...

How can ford sue for copyright infringment for using the mustang name, when they themselves did not go up to a Mustang at a ranch and ask it permission to use its breed as a model of automobile. fuck man, thats like copyrighting bottled water and the word "The".

I would think that you may not want to make any direct reference to ME. No need to bring attention from Fords legal team, or reprioritize the litigagion.

That's what went through my head when brent posted that he sent a link to the grave digging thread he started. It is kind of like doing crack and then going to the cops and bitching about the rocks you are holding being illegal. If they didn't know about this site yet, they certainly do now. So if it wasn't on the radar, it is now. |
