I know there is a similar thread to this, but i have a more specific question. I dont want to spend much money on this, just so you know. I am going to get ford c springs sometime in the near future, but since my car has over 100k miles, i need to also get some shock/struts. Which shocks and struts would work best with c springs that are also budgey friendly (meaning the least expensive i can get before i compromise the quality)?

I went with the bullitt suspension kit from rdmotorsport.com. It has c springs, tokico bullitt s/s, and front and rear swaybars. If you're looking for a budget s/s, probably look at tokico's first.

get mach 1 struts/shocks and c springs~ thats all you need other than a set of cc plates for alignment fixies, even if they say your in stock specs they can be used to make the tires wear better than stock spec... I know mine did on my black car.

are the mach 1's as good as the tokico blue ones? those tokicos are one of the cheaper versions, so they would run me about $300 for the set of 4. any idea on what mach 1 would cost?

The mach 1's used to be 178.00 for the full set~ so around 200 delivered but they may have went up I have not priced them in forever. You dont have to upgrade shocks/struts with c springs but its not a bad idea. I personally would put the 200 bucks into cc plates before shocks/struts as they will make your tires last longer and the ride wont be any different for the most part with the C springs compared to what it is now.

alright im tired of trying to decide which to get and all that... im just going to buy the bullitt suspension kit. it is the same price as i would have to pay for seperate shocks, struts, springs and it also comes with new swaybars. so yeah... should be getting that in the next week or so.

when places talk about the ford racing handling kit, they are talking about the bullitt kit right? it has all the same stuff (i dont know if they are the exact same shocks/struts though) but it doesnt say "bullitt" anywhere. they have this one on fordracingparts.com and its the same on summitracing for about 400 shipped.

i know.. about the same as c springs, but im not looking for that much of a drop. although i would like to have a bigger drop, i cant really afford to because i would scrape in a lot of places. my drive way (which i pull into every day) has a big curb to it and im afraid i would scrape every time... so its not really worth the trouble to me. im really more interested in just improving my handling... plus i doubt my shocks/struts have ever been changed and my car has over 100k miles. and also since i have a 99, my car doesnt have a rear swaybar... so i think for the money, this kit will work well for what i want.

bullit springs drop the car around a half an inch c springs drop the car around 1.1 inches. Bullit springs do NOT drop the car NEARLY enough FYI. Some bullit kits come with C springs so... you need to see which it has.

the one im looking at says the springs are similar to c-springs and drop pre 99 cars 1 inch and after 99 .75 inch. i know i cant really go by this. here is the link... summitracing. tell me what you think. and by the way, im kind of trying to avoid getting c/c plates.

if you are on a budget just buy the C springs alone and a bit later get the shocks/struts they wont hurt being a bit lower.

That looks very similar to the bullitt suspension kit, I'm not sure on what springs it has however. I'd recommend going with a kit with c-springs if you want to lower a bit more.
