I think a lot of the stuff you guys are talking about is already on Ford's radar....
My 2008 BULLITT seems to be a test bed of sort for the next generation of Mustangs
CAI from the factory
HID headlamps
stiffer suspension
Better seats with side bolsters
nice short throw shifter and easy clutch
I think the most important things Ford can do with the next Mustang are:
1. Lessen the weight and get closer to 50/50 distribution fr/rr
2. Turbo-V6 to increase power and maintain fuel economy for the entry level Stang
3. 5.0 L V8 for the GT with Cylinder de-activation but capable when pushed of producing 400 RWHP
(first three would all help Ford with meeting Congress's mandate for CAFE)
4. True Fastback---I wish I could get a kit to modify my BULLITT to more closely resemble the '68s
and as for T-tops, I agree with earlier post, I think that's more of a GM thing.
I like the glass roof (its dark with an all black interior)
The only things I can think of are: (1) improving the power to weight ratio and (2) getting some controls on the steering wheel that are useful. I would really like radio controls on the wheel. I know there are cruise control buttons there but I never use them.
i think heated cooled seats.
automatic digital ac/heat controls. im tired of knobs.
bluetooth
dvd entertainment system.
Projector beam Bi/xenon hids.
more power. im thinking a nice LS2 v-8 ()
better suspension. with selectable tuning. like sport and smooth.
I would like to see a higher quality "soft" plastic dash pad, trunk release in the car, projector headlights for the HID equipped cars, around 350 hp stock for the GT, sleeker front end like the red drawing floating around, LED front parking lights/turnsignals, LED tail-lights, Shelby like hood/vents.
I would like to see a Drag Pak 427 SCJ V8, a better fastback design (more '69-'70),weight loss ,and bring back the Mercury Cougar for all you luxury people.
Mustang=Muscle Car
Cougar=Luxury
