new exhaust

I am sure this has been posted before. I am looking at getting a new exhaust for the 2001 red GT convertible I just purchased. I don't want it too loud but I want it to sound better than the stock one. Any suggestions?

I have 2 children who will be riding in back so I don't want it to be too overwhelming.

I would suggest a cat back, leave the cats as that will make a ton of noise. As far as brands go... there are tons of opinions on that very matter. You cant go to wrong with a flowmaster muffler~

Thanks. I would like the wha wha wha sound at idle and something that lets you know you're giving the gas without blowing ear drums out.

I'd recommend listening to as many setups as you can find to find the one you will like. I've been through 4 exhaust systems on my car, and it took me this long to find one I'm satisfied with..for the moment. I want to change it but don't have the funds lol.

Thanks. I am still open to suggestions. Like I said, I don't want screaming loud, just something that will let the person next to me know I have muscle.
