Well, actually a rebuild. My engine (97 3.8L V6) crapped out the rods on a trip and the mechanic said either get a new engine or a new car. Im a little strapped for cash right now, but I was thinking, this might actually be a good thing. Im looking to get a rebuild, so should I go right for a 4.2 or keep the same 3.8? If I were to get a 4.2 rebuild would it cost more than 3.8 rebuild? I have to know what to tell the mechanic to look for sometime tomorrow so any info would greatly help, thanks. Oh yeah, before I forget... does a 4.2L sound any different than a 3.8L? I already have a flowmaster cat back with dual exhaust pipes. Just cuious.
