difference between?

hey guys i have a quick question.. is there a real differnce in ceramic headers and chrome headers?? i found this guy selling it for 100 bucks and i was doing some research and found that the chrome's are cheaper.. but both are 1 5/8 BBK..

Im not positive on this, but i think ceramic headers dont get quite as hot as chrome or whatever else. they may also last a little longer. i wouldnt think there would be that much difference between different types of coating.

I've got ceramic equal-length shorties on my car... would I pay big ammounts to have it done? probably not, but I got my coating for free, so I figured that I might as well because it couldn't hurt.

They say that the ceramic coating helps to keep some heat out of the engine bay - I'm sure it does a little bit, but it's not like you're going to notice a massive difference..... also, unless you're getting the inside of the headers coated as well, it's not really worth your time IMO.

The biggest thing is that I've noticed that the headers cool faster after turning the engine off - not a big deal usually, but it is a bit of a bonus if you're wanting to work on something close to them.

Ceramic headers is what the name implies they are coated with a durable glass like product which is way more durable than Chrome in high heat environments. Jethot is ceramic coating

Chrome headers discolors and eventually peal. They blue almost immediately around the exhaust ports.

Ceramic coating is not expensive unless you were taken by someone using the Jethot process. I can get v6 headers done all day for under $120.00

Next time I buy headers, they'll be ceramic. Chrome discolors and turns blue very quickly. The ones I have on the '90 are Mac with an HTS coating. They haven't changed color much at all, but the color was a boring looking grey to begin with.

Ceramic does cool faster and blah blah blah, but the main reason I would want it is because the headers won't look like crap a couple of months down the line.

i see.. i just wondering because on 50resto theres chrome= $149 ceramic= $249.. and im like.... wtf? haha same header hundred dollar difference? n the guy i was gonna buy it from sold it.. i was a day late..

If you can get a deal on a set of regular headers and send them to me I can get them Ceramic coated for around 120 shipped. The issue today is a lot of chrome stuff is done on the cheap especially when it comes from China. Ceramic coating will last 10 times longer than Chrome.
