basically you have fluid that goes though the tranny that makes it operate. You enlarge some of the holes it goes though so it can travel faster. You replace some of the valves so when they are made to move they move faster and harder. This makes the car shift faster and the tranny will run cooler (if not raced lol normal vs normal driving with the shift kit)
