Ok this is off subject from Mustangs.... The new camaros are coming in 07 Whats going on about The Firebirds??? Anything?? I figured since they're F-Bodies like Camaros that they'll soon be coming out....

As of the year of the firebird demise in 2002 they said they were no plans. The problem for Pontiac is the Firebird only outsold the Camaro in the Smokey and the Bandit years and not by much. In the end they only made 28,000 firebirds of all make while Camaro sold 42,000 compared to the 150,000 mustangs sold. So for Pontiac there is not the level of revival for the firebird in the Pontiac ranks compared to the Chevy ranks for the Camaro.
But who knows!! If the Camaro sales skyrocket pontiac might jump on board.

I saw a photochop of a Firebird based off the new Camaro concept that looked 10x better than the Camaro concept could ever dream of... but I doubt anything like it will be made anytime soon. |

That what if and flight of fancy at best. I saw many concepts made by artist of a future Camaro that were 100 times better. I also saw Mustang concepts that were 1000 times better looking than what they built.

Here are some picture that some guy drew of what the knew T/A might look like that has been featured in several magazines. I personnally think it looks better than the Camaro and think GM should build it.

Mark my words, in a few more years when people start looking for a nice cheap mod car, they will look to the Firebirds over the Camaro's. Why? Same engine yes, but looks hands down the Firebird woops the catfish. It's already starting to some degree. All the available TA's are not staying at car dealers for long once they go out on the market and they are already above the price of similar year Camaro's.

no firebird plans yet, in my opinion i hope they dont come back, its nice to have a rare car, and even if they did it would screw over camaro sales..

we'll have to see. If Pontiac was smart they'd do 2 things.
1. Remake the GTO's body but keep the LS2 engine.
2. Bring back the Firebird, and try making it look retro.
I know, is retro over played? I say who cares. It's selling. It's something no other country could do and succeed.

Yes but development now on a retro fad is a little late. This could all be over before Chevy gets the Camaro out.

I think if they do the camaro right it will sell pretty good, better than before. We just have to wait and hope they do it justice. It is a double edged sword though, if the camaro does good it will help GM but it may hurt ford by not selling as many mustangs~ GM may put the camaro in a higher class though as they previously did and make it to expensive (but the mustang is pretty much there now..)

Well I hope they do come out with new firebirds. When I saw the new mustangs I really didnt like them I still dont really. They look good fixed up right but other than that I still like my body stlye. I hope they come out with a different body stlye for mustangs soon. As for camaro's the new ones look awesome. |
