performance issues '00 v6 Manual

I recently purchased a v6 2000 stang and Ive noticed its not running as smoothly as it should. Ive been wanting to mod it up, but nothing as drastic as a turbo. I can honestly say I dont know much about cars.. but I would like to get it running like new, well better than new I have allready installed a flowmaster.. any tips on where I should go from here? Id like to get my acceleration up, even HP. I dont believe its ever had a tune-up or anything performance done since the previous owner bought it in 2000. thanks, I appreciate the help!!!

Get new plugs and wires. Change your fuel filter. Change your gear oil out.. Engine oil of course. Air filter. Brakes, fluids etc. Then think about some performance.

Any good brand names you would recommend? and what do you think about synthetic oil?

Plugs Autolite or Motorcraft

Synthetic yes any synthetic is better than any conventional oil

Motorcraft, Fram or Wix filter is fine

Use Motorcraft, Ford racing, Jacobs or MSD plug wires. get the best price out of this group

plugs, check plug wires (could be find if high miles change them if they have not been), fuel filter, fuel injection cleaner on a full tank. Check pcv valve, clean maf, clean IAC (idle bypass valve on upper intake behind throttle body, cylinder shaped), clean/replace air filter, and other little stuff like this.

just s/c it as is with like 15psi and spray it with a 100 shot
