I just added my rear sway bar and I'm glad I got it. I wrecked my car a few months back on the front...my insurance fix all damages but I think my front shocks were damaged cuz every time I break my car bend over forward and squeeks. I think that's what it is so I am thinking about replacing them and upgrading them while I'm at it. What's the info on shocks & struts, what's the difference? I use it as a daily commute car so I don't want anything real hard core but I want something near the best. I was thinking about some kyb gas shocks. Do I have shocks and struts or shocks or struts?

They're called shocks and struts, shocks in the front and struts in the back.

which of the two is it? I've got about 70k. I hit someone from behind. My bumper, hood radiator mostly cosmetics, frame was realigned. I want to know how to upgrade my suspension economically. My wife has a focus and it's embarassing how much better her cars suspension is than mine. She teases me bout it cuz I got a 'mustang'.

yea, struts are in the front. A lot of people go with tokicos as they are well-known and economical. Are you wanting to upgrade springs too (and lower your car) or just wanting to replace what is broken? Tokico also makes "D-spec" ones that are adjustable but quite expensive..another expensive option is bilsteins. I don't know how much of an improvement you will feel in handling without going to different springs and such.

I do want different springs, but I don't know which. I know how much of a drop I want when I see it maybe you guys can help. I only want to be able to stick the width of two fingers between the tire and the edge of the tire well both in back and front. I was thinking of ford racing springs w/ your recommended tokico. What specific tokico model though?

WD-40 on what area exactly? I think my struts are encased in some black protective plastic, do I need to take this off? Details are appreciated.

the black casing on the strut is put on your new strut. it is attached to the housing that bolts inside your hood. it can be a pain to get off your old strut, but goes on the new one easy. So yeah... if and when you get new struts, take the strut out, take the casing/housing thingy off the old strut, put it on the new one, then bolt it back in place.
