so i got the bullitt suspension kit (i know its not much of a drop but i thought it would be fine for me) and put the front stuff in (springs, struts, swaybar) and its a couple inches higher than it was before... i dont understand. im pretty sure the springs in there before were not lower than stock and i am pretty sure the spring coils are where they need to be on the frame and in the a-arm. i also know it needs some time to settle, but its not going to settle a couple inches right? any suggestions?

Where did you get the kit from, and did it come with bullitt springs or c springs?

bullitt springs drop less than an inch (aka not noticable for the most part) so you should be at 28.5 inches from the ground to the top edge of the fender, any more and your higher than stock. Did you put in the oem isolators or poly isolators? Make sure the struts are not binding~ is the back and front level or is one end higher up?

i didnt put the back in yet and the back is lower than the front. i used the old bottom isolaters and the new top isolaters. what does it mean if the strut is binding? i made sure it compressed before i put it in there... well you have to compess it to get it in.

this may sound like a dumb question, but did you put the correct set of springs in the front?
when I did mine i accidentally put the rubber strut mount on in the wrong order. so when i was tightening down the bolts on the strut tower, it wasn't clamping down correctly. hard to explain over the internet but my point is that it caused the strut to not compress and it was a little raised.
i had the same set up as you. 99 with the bullitt suspension. I'd just look over every detali again because once I corrected my problem, there was a noticeable drop in the front.

Yeah i know i put the right springs in the front... the rear springs have the dead coil correct?
If you are talking about the housing thing that goes on the top of the strut, i am sure it is on correctly. it bolts down fine and the strut compessed (i checked it before i lowered everything down).
Yeah thats the kit i got... it has the same part numbers as the bullitt kit but it just doesnt say "bullitt."
I will try to get some up today... but just imagine the front of my car one inch higher than the back... and both sides are the exact same.

basically if you can push the car up and down in the front (do NOT put your hand on the fender pop the hood and use the strut tower to push on else you will dent your fender by pushing ) if its free moving then you should be good. Make sure it all is put back like it was~ its not to much to it really... you unbolt the strut... push it down and out... then push it back down and back in... line it up and bolt it back down... Measure the front from the ground to the under edge of the fender.

i will measure it when i get off work. one more question that may seem kind of stupid... but there isnt any way that the sway bar could keep it from dropping is there... like if it isnt on correctly? it would kind of make sense (at least it is right now) because those bearings dont have a whole lot of play in them.
should i just go ahead and install the rear and see what happens?

well the sway bar pretty much bolts to the endlink (little bar that bolts from the way bar to the a arm)

yeah... and then it bolts up to your frame with those a clips or whatever you want to call them. thats what i am getting at though... like swaybar is held in by those clips and then is bolted onto the endlink on the a arm, which wouldnt really let it move up and down... at least i cant think of how it would.

There is no way that they raised the car over the stock springs. You must have done something wrong on the install.

This is probably wrong. I was just thinking that maybe because the Bullit Mustang has a V-8 the extra weight on the front end compresses the springs more. Like I said this is probably wrong, I dout the weight difference would raise the front end by 2 inches.

haha yeah... i took a look at the springs. when i was jacking the suspension back up, the spring must have moved out of place or something. because the end of the bottom spring was not where it should be... in that little ditch thing. but for some reason it kept both sides raised higher. anyway, problem is fixed now. ended up taking it to 27.5 inches, which is what my back is at now without new springs. im not all that worried that it didnt drop it much because ford c springs may be in the near future. i can already tell a pretty big difference in how it handles with just the front done.
heres pictures before i fixed it.

Thanks for this thread I didn't know there were different Bullitt Kits you could get.
I'll make sure to get the one with C-Springs.
