Cam Question

If I put a more high performance cam in my mustang, would I need new rods and lifters and all that? And would a Cam make my gas mpg go way down? - Trey

first off you have two cams one over each head. The best thing for you to do money wise is buy a set of 99+ PI heads and bolt them on with what ever else has to be done to make it work. You get great gains from it.

A cam would be a waste with the stock heads from the 96-98 GTs. Do like Spector said and get the 99+ PI heads, and then you can start looking at a cam later. You may want to try to find a set that's already been ported out a little if you still want to get a cam later.

All 99-04 GT's have them. Ebay, Junk yards, Junkyarddog.com, Check the forums.

check ebay, there are companies around that probably sell the swap. Its pretty much just 99+ heads/intakes I would get them rebuilt to ensure they are working good before I put them on my car.
