? about clutches

From what Ive been told I have about 75% wear on my clutch. Is it dangerous to be driving that way? I have a 3.8L, hopefully one day soon to be a 4.2 so should I upgrade to a preformance clutch? Would I have to get a new flywheel with that? What would an upgrade do? How much would it cost? Where would I look for them?

If its not broke dont fix it. Save up now so when it does go out and start slipping you can have it replaced. I would go back with the stock clutch unless you plan on pushing over 300rwhp or you have a pre 99 mustang. The stock clutch allows you to feather the clutch. If you go with a stiff aftermarket clutch you will lose most of that ability (depending on brand and level of course some are great) and the stock clutch is VERY cheap.

If the clutch slips replace it, I would go with a spec stage 2. From www.stangsuspension.com
Just resurface your flywheel before the install.
Also make sure to get an aftermarket clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster and a new ford throw out bearing.

if you dont plan on having a ton of power a stage 1 will be fine.
