Air Intake

Just a old timer asking a simple question. Bought my wife a 2005 GT with everything extra added on. My question: will a AFE Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System help the car run any better. I will say that right now the car will flat azz get with it. They claim 19 HP & 22 Ft/Lbs of Torque Max Gain @ 4500 RPM ( 10% Increase at the Rear Wheels) and improved gas mileage. I have added the AFE air intake systems to all three of my F250 Power Strokes along with chips and exhaust systems. with great results.

The CAI and a chip to go along with it will probably give you around those numbers. The 05+ GTs seem to dyno around 270 at the wheels stock and around 290 with a CAI and tune. If you get the CAI, you'll most likely need a tune with it. Some manufacturer's claim that a tune isn't necessary with their CAIs, but the 05+ GTs are very finnicky as far as changes to air intake. I wouldn't risk buying a CAI with out a tune designed for it, due to the high chance of running lean.
