Just for fun, and future competition with a buddy from work how is this for a matchup:
2000 Pontaic TA LS1 Automatic (bone stock) VS 1999GT w/flowmasters, k&n filter + 5-speed. IS the LS1 still too much for the stang to handle?
Ready, set, fill me in.

I agree you'd get whooped. Have you ever driven one? They are too much for me to handle I'd kill myself in one.

I agree. They are faster than a 99-04 GT, but it's not a world of difference. Besides, it's all a matter of how far you push that little pedal on the right down anyway...

An ls1 is a motor that likes to be revved. It does pull that much down low,(not that a N/A modular mustang is blessed with a lot of lowend power either) but when the motor reaches higher rpm's it will defanantly out run a stock GT mustang.

if the mustang driver can drive and the LS1 guy cant, its possible the mustang can hold off the LS1 till about 1/8mi. by then the LS1 should have reeled him in and be passing.

I thought the LS1 was only 285? Wow. Any other cheaper mods other than flows and a filter that would help a stang owner out in this case?

I think z28's have about that much HP, but Trans Am's and Camaro SS have more, especially WS6's they have something like 335 to 345 I think, Corvettes and GTO's with LS1's have 350. Still I've seen a bone stock Z28 beat GT Mustangs with bolt ons, I've also seen him beat a guy I used to know Trans Ams, and he had a few bolt ons. For some reason that guys z28 just hooked up and launch harder than you would think it could on the stock tires, if they would have raced farther the Trans Am would have one though, he was slowly catching up.
As far as cheap mods maybe some gears, some 3.73's or 4.10's would help, but I still don't think that would be enough, n2o maybe a 100 shot would get you there.

That'd be the LT1. LS1 Z28's had 305. LS1 TransAms had 320 I believe.

My TA put 300 to the wheels, bone stock. With an air-lid and a cat-back it did 317.

I dont know about all that, I have been beaten by one camero and it was owned by a dude in STL who owns a company called street speed. Ive whooped (2-3 car lengths) a guy in a a 01 WS6 not sure auto or stick, and my cousins boyfriend has a 94 Z28 auto with no cats that gets beat hard evry time. I frequent gateway intl raceway quite a bit and the guys in thier cameros and T/A's say the autos are quicker than the 6 speeds. I know they make more power but I also gotta believe that a decked out SS or FireHawk has gotta weigh more then a 99-04 GT

You didn't "whoop" a LS1 TransAm with a 13.7. Something was terribly wrong if you did. No offense but the times just don't match up

Or whoever was driving the 13.4 second 'vette...couldn't. They've all make about the same power, btw. My bone stock '02 WS6 put 300 to the wheels.

Yeah, they don't fuck around when it comes to pricing those 'vettes. I test drove an '05 Corvette coupe and the sticker was $52k.

Go here and post a picture, and ask Zim to make you one. He makes them look pretty cool, but I don't know how to make one with all the detail that he uses.
http://www.mustangevolution.com/foru...ure-21255.html
I made my own using "Microsoft Picture It! Premium 10". Then once you have you're Sig made you will need to go to "Mustang Forums>Control Panal>Edit Signature" and post it in there.
