Throttle Body Spacers

I was browsing Rpm outlets the other day and i found throttle body spacers for $89. RPMoutlets said they increase horsepower by 10 and add 2 mpg depending on one's driving style. For the price it seems like an inexpensive mod, that while it might not increase horsepower that much, the fuel economy gain was very nice for the price. 2 mpgs is alot especially if you make a lot of road trips like i do. My question is : Is this a bunch of bs or do they really work that well? And i assume that you would have to get a tune also, right? Thanks for the imput.

You'd probably do better on gas mileage AND performance swapping out your mufflers, putting in a CAI kit, and a chip..

Thanks for the help. Right know I'm really just looking for some mods to help me escape the large crowd of kids at college that own a 05 GT- just cause they can. I want to free up a little horsepower, torque, and give the car a better sound as far as exhaust. To make things harder I am on a major budget, that is why i ask about things like throttle body spacers (cheap seem to work well enough). I bought a pair of dynomax race magnums earlier this summer because they were inexpensive and their straight through design appeared to free up a few horses, and help with fuel mileage(although many people debate this). I took them to local muffler shop, and they completely screwed up. They used 2 1/4 diameter tubing instead of 2 1/2 in. tubing, the welding was absolutely horrendus, and to top everything off it came with the annoying exhaust hanger rattle, which i fixed myself. Anyways I'm thinking of installing the Pypes O/R x pipe from- you guessed it Rpm Outlets, but I'll definitely be installing it by myself. I have heard numerous stories from both sides about rpm outlets, so i kinda figure i'll give them a try and see how it works out. Don't get me wrong later on in life i plan on serious upgrades, body kits, hoods, forged internals, maybe a Kenne Bell SC, etc... but right now im looking for inexpensive qualith mods that i can justify for some reason or another. I really appreciate the help.

its one of those mods that, if youre gonna replace the TB/Plenum, you might as well throw one on for the extra 50 bucks(well, 50 from mustangtuning.com) while youre there and have the plenum off.

i had fitment issues with the EGR thingy not being able to bend back into the plenum, i had to bend the pipe way back behind the motor to give it enough reach to finally bolt in place, and even then i had to make a spacer out of sheet metal for it.

Thanks man, I'm really looking for more hp, since they don't make much, but they seem to fix the throttle lag, and add torque, that alone is worth the $50-$100 to me, but thats just my opinion.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! THEY ARE USELESS!!! THEY DONT ADD TORQUE!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A UNDERDRIVE PULLEY AND ACTUALLY ADD SOMETHING

I dyno'ed before and after I installed a T/B spacer and it did nothing at all. So please dont waste your money and dont pay attention to any claim made by RPM Outlet BY GOD

I think you confuse a T/B spacer with a Intake spacer. They are different!!!

Yeah i think i'm definitely gonna kill the plans to buy a TB spacer. Sounds like they don't do much, and i just tallked to a guy on another site- he ordered the same Spacer i was thinking about gettin and RPM screwed him over big time, as far as customer service goes, anyways.
