i would take the dash out and double check the connectors and make sure its all snug. Does the speedometer work?
To get the dash out you will need a star bit to remove the two bolts facing upwards under the dash infront of the gauges. Then remove the headlight knob with a 90 degree angle bent nail (turn the light knob to the side and find the slot in it, you will see a peice of metal perpindicular to the slot in the knob's side. Pull outwards toward the back of the car on this metal peice and pull out on the knob at the same time and it will eventually come off, its a pain in the butt)
After this you can pull down and out on the gauge cover peice (pops out pretty much) just lower the steering wheel to make room for it to come out.
After this you can use the star bits to remove the 4 black bolts holding the clear gauge face in place. There is one at each corner. After this the gauges will slide right out and you can look behind them~
